I’m Kim Gray, and I’ve been a proud member of the Transform Comms family for more than fifteen years. With more than twenty-five years of communications experience, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide variety of sectors - business and consumer. I have forged a niche in human resources and professional services, but have also worked with organisations in hospitality, events, logistics, and distribution. I’ve collaborated with incredible clients such as the British Menopause Society, Talogy, CHC Global, Mars Drinks, Harvester Restaurants, BIC, and Costa. I’m passionate about crafting messages that connect and inspire, and I love being part of a team that transforms ideas into impact.
My work with Transform began right from the beginning. When Ronnie was freelance, and we found a synergy in the knowledge and services we offered. It has been wonderful to see Transform Communications grow into the full-service agency it is today, and to be part of the team. The culture of Transform is welcoming and nurturing. It is a great place for newcomers to learn from the best and for clients to receive results-based, strategic marketing communications. There is no fluff, it’s straight-forward hard work with straight-forward people, who deliver great customer service and have fun along the way. There is always something new that comes along in communications. I have seen the migration from print to online, from online to social media, and now the transition to AI. Each change brings with it its challenges. The next phase will be in discerning what is true, and what is fake news. Reputations will be won or lost on it. Our job at Transform is to embrace the changing nature of marketing communications, while ensuring organisations remain credible and trustworthy. We are entering a new era of reputation management, and it’s exciting to be working side by side with Transform as the scrabble for AI supremacy matures into a more strategic tool for marketing communications.
What fuels my fire is when a client sees their name in a newspaper, magazine, or they appear on a podcast or TV. It elevates their reputation, creates pride within the whole organisation, and it’s a great showcase for the power of PR. When a campaign, or media launch goes viral and the reach snowballs, that’s also a great showcase for the power of PR. It’s hard to quantify, but when it’s done well, it can transform a business, product or event. It’s amazing to be part of that. It’s difficult to manage sometimes, but rewarding when you look back and can say – we engineered that. The client gets the credit, but we know it was our expertise that opened the door.
I love to dance. If there’s music I’m dancing, it really is part of my DNA. I have been learning modern jive for more than ten years now. I also run a smallholding and holiday let side-hustle in Cornwall. If you are unfortunate enough to have me on a conference call, it’s not unusual to hear the chirp of chicks, just hatched, the cat hassling me for dinner, or the ducks calling for each other in the rain. I also love to travel. One of my most recent adventures was with my partner, Tony, on a trip to Egypt where we had a most fantastic experience visiting The Pyramids. There are plenty more places on my bucket list to explore.
